After coaching at Apopka High School, Kevin McElveen has accepted a position as athletic director of Olympia High School.

McElveen has been a part of the Olympia High School world since 2002 and has been invested in the school, students and athletes from Day One.

"I know the community pretty well and I'm very prideful for our kids," McElveen said.

McElveen's heavy involvement in the sports scene over 16 years has given him the opportunity to coach a number of sports. McElveen's daughter is a standout setter for the volleyball team.

Olympia Principal Guy Swenson is delighted at McElveen's decision to join the school as the athletic director and is hopeful for what the future holds.

"He knows our community well and will bring a wealth of experience to the role. I am excited to move in a new direction," Swenson said.
