Ruth E. Turton, 95 of Plymouth, FL went home to be with her Lord on September 18, 2018.
She was born in Battletown, Kentucky on December 17, 1922. Ruth retired from the Orange County Public School system where she had worked for 20 years as a Baker in the Food Service department. She was a devoted Southern Baptist and a member of the Plymouth Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. A joy in her life was caring for her family and friends, and her cooking and cookies were well known in her neighborhood. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Turton, her daughter, 4 brothers and sisters and by 2 grandchildren. She is survived by her children: V. Carol (David) Byumn, Geraldine Griffin, Mary (Charles) Lowery, Alice (Neal Peterson; her grandchildren: Franklin Griffin, Jennifer Griffin, Jonathan Lowery, Stephanie Garcia, Cory Lowery, John Peterson, Rachael Browne, Michael Peterson, Timothy Peterson, Thomas Peterson, Belva Figueroa, Angela Sanchez and Christiana Combee; her 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
The family received friends on Saturday, September 22 from 1:30 – 2 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home with service to follow at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment followed at Highland Memory Gardens in Apopka, FL.
